Belated birthday for Matty...early birthday for Catriona :-)

Belated birthday for Matty…early birthday for Catriona 🙂

STRAIGHT onto trying to sort out what the heck’s going on with getting my website live.

I restart the whole process of getting files form my laptop to the web server, but the remote database keeps throwing errors when I try and import the SQL file.

Mid-morning my pal Rab calls for a blether and some help with his website. Wish sorting out my own mess was as easy as helping Rab out!

Lesley arrives just as we’re finishing lunch. She and Margaret chat while I get back on the website case and struggle for hours getting nowhere, so I call my web hosting company and they ask me to email some info. The afternoon is spent to-ing and fro-ing without much success.

In between times, there’s some work needing done on the EP release planned for early June. The last line of Hellhound Train repeats… “It’ll be some fuckin’ ride”. Not gonna much radio airplay with that!

I have a memory form the recording sessions almost a year ago that I recorded an alternative ending so we could do a radio edit. of course, we never had (a) time or (b) the cash to finish things off. I hit the studio and go through some of the audio files and sure enough, there’s a separate vocal take of the ending. it’s a bit of a faff, but I manage to edit it into the previous mix and create an alternative edit for radio.

Back in the house I have more to-ing and fro-ing – the web hosting folks are doing their best to help, but to be honest, it’s my problem  rather than theirs.

Matty, Catriona and Will will be arriving soon, so I get busy with a big green curry, checking emails and stuff in between times. The web hosting folks have managed to get my site working in a kind of a way, but a lot of it is ‘broken’.  Once again, making any further progress is relegated ’til the morning.
