THERE’S hardly a breath of air in our room in the bowels of the old town hotel…a shower helps, but it’s hard to get dry and we’re glad to get to the breakfast room where the air’s little cooler.
I get some work done while Margaret packs the bags then the receptionist calls a taxi to take us to the ferry port.
While waiting to board, Margaret’s spotted a load of trolleys that ferry passengers load up with crates of beer and drink from the duty free shop…many folks just make the trip to Estonia to pick up (very) cheap drink. The trolleys look perfect for shifting my guitars. The small plastic one we have doesn’t work too well and has been relegated to other duties – transporting one of our bags that has broken wheels. I go and get a trolley. Might be the best €10 I’ve ever spent.
We immediately get the benefit on the long walk from the terminal up the gangway passages to the boat!
There’s wifi on the boat. The service is a bit patchy, but enough to let me set up my eNewsletter and schedule it to go out tomorrow (Monday) then I have a nap.
Maiju and Juuso are at the terminal to pick us up and in no time we’re enjoying a cold beer and catching up.
A great dinner, a few drinks and a lovely relaxing evening with our friends 🙂
