After the seaplane flight

After the seaplane flight

WE fly through some work so we’re ready to go to Cameron House for Margaret’s birthday seaplane flight.

The flight’s 12.45pm and we need to be there 1/2-hour before take off. It’s a little cloudy, but we’re assured it;s a great day for the flight.

There’s a small group of us on the flight and we take off from the loch bang on 12.45pm. We head across the loch and right over our village the straight up through the clouds making a beeline for the Kyles of Bute. When we hit the west coast the cloud has cleared and we have a spectacular  flight over Gigha, Islay, Jura, Arran and Cumbrae before coming back over the Clyde estuary and landing  on the water some 50-minutes  after take-off. It’s a jaw-dropping trip.

We’re given a glass of bubbly on landing – I keep mine for Margaret as, for once, i’m on driving duties – then we go into Cameron House and splash out on a wee snack.

Next stop, Balloch, where Margaret’s having a pedicure, then home to take down Betty and Joe’s car port/shelter and prepare for a wee cookout – we’ve some of our neighbours round to sat thanks for all their help with Margaret’s party at thew weekend.

We hadn’t planned a late one, but it’s well after 1am when we go back into the house after a magical night in the garden 🙂

The 50-minute seaplane flight from Loch Lomond and over the west coast is stunning.
