QUITE a long drive from Pittsburgh to Fort Wayne, Indiana today – about 350 miles.
The Grand Caravan certainly makes travelling a comfy experience and we take turns driving and making our first Panera Bread stop of the trip.
It’s 7pm by the time we roll up at the Howard Johnson ‘HoJo’ where we’re staying tonight. There’s time to freshen up and catch up with some work and then a few miles downtown to The Brass Rail.
Ashley and Jared immediately make us welcome – I last played here a couple of years ago and had a great night. Tonight is gonna be special too…Scotty – aka Totally Orange Time Machine – arrives, closely followed by Pete whose opening the show with his rap buddy Lincoln (Creepy Neighbours) and also closing the show with Freddy – Left Lane Cruiser.
The place is rammed and there’s lots of folks we’ve met before out for the show…everyone has a good show and a fantastic night out. One to remember for sure.
It’s 3am when we load out and try and find something to eat. All the recommended places are shut and we end up at a Taco Bell drive-thru…I can’t read the menu, though, so have to jump out the van and go for a closer look. Just as the sprinklers come on. Jeez. Soaked!
Back at the hotel I scoff the XL beef burrito, a large dram and at 4am crash…
