The internet’s a lot faster in Traverse City and I get to upload the wee video made in Nahama General Store 🙂

WE sleep in a bit and head downstairs for breakfast.

JJ and Sarah soon join us then Charley and Laurie drop in. We chat for a while then pack the van, say our cheerios and start our 250-mile journey to Traverse City.

The UP (Upper Peninsula) scenery is spectacular then we pull in for some gas and grab some food – our first taste of Arby’s. We’ve seen them all over the place but never bothered…this ones conveniently part of the gas station and we both enjoyed the roast beef sandwiches,

We cross the five-mile-long Mackinac Bridge crossing the channel between lakes Michigan and Huron and make our way south. By the time I take over driving the light rain has turned to sleet and it;s all a bit cold and grey when we arrive at Sue and Jim’s in Traverse City. Sue’s mum, Dot – who is my cousin – is there too and it’s great to see everyone.

We have a wonderful meal and relaxing night chatting and enjoying  a few drams.
