AFTER a good sleep we head out to pick up some stuff in Manhattan and stop off at The Ritz diner for some grub.
It’s not quite as good as the Silver Star, but the guys there scunnered me last year when I left about 12% as a tip and they came back to ‘inform’ me that the tip rate in NYC is at least 15%. I know it’s a different culture, but they’ll be getting fuck all business or tips from us in the future. End of.
So…we hit the NBA shop to pick up a shirt for Matty, Bloomingdales for makeup for Margaret and then share a burrito on the way back to Ginny’s.
Ginny and John have stuff on tonight so aren;t gonna be around.
I edit some of the footage for the last part (five!) of the USA tour videoblog…I’d like to get it done and posted before we leave tomorrow, but it’s looking a bit tight for time. While I’m busy with that, Margaret sorts out the bags and makes an inventory of what we’ll be leaving in storage here in NYC.
There’s a nice wee Italian restaurant a block away called Felice where we’ve eaten a few times before on previous trips so we head round there sometime after 8pm and have a nice meal and a bottle of red to mark our last night in New York City…and the USA.
