MARGARET drops me in the village on her way into Glasgow at 8am…I’ve a blood test at 9am and plan to stop at the wee cafe for some breakfast and a coffee.
But the cafe’s shut. Doesn’t open ’til 9am 🙁
Instead, I go for a wee walk and take in the views up to the loch.
After my blood test I start the walk home, stopping off at the now open cafe to pick up a roll and sausage with a slice of black pudding for good measure.
An hour – and a couple of podcasts later – I get home and deal with the usual morning tasks.,,,cleaning out and setting the fire, chopping some wood, emptying the bins, feeding the birds…
My pal Lee is able to open the Perth show at The Green Room on Saturday 4 February, so I update the graphics and the Facebook and ticket websites with the extra info. I also build a landing page for my website in preparation for some Facebook and Instagram ads for the forthcoming shows.
Betty pops in for a coffee on her way past then I sort a slot on STV’s Live at Five show for Wednesday 1 February to promote the upcoming Scottish shows – some good motivation to hit the studio and run through some of the new songs I’ve just committed myself to playing on the telly!
We have an early dinner – Margaret’s got a local meeting and comes back just in time for a pals coming by to chat about some music-related stuff…a few beers and a bottle of red later we say cheerio and hit the hay.
