We skirt Burncrooks reservoir on our walk from Carbeth to Gartocharn

WE manage to get up at a reasonable time, motivated by the fact that Martyn and I have arranged to met at 11am for a walk.

After breakfast I have a some bits and bobs I wan t to get done then I gather my stuff and, after stopping to pick up Martyn and the dog, Margaret drives us to Carbeth. We plan to walk a section of the John Muir Way round Burncrooks reservoir and on to Gartocharn where Louise will, hopefully pick us up in a few hours’ time.

Last time we tried this walk we took a wrong turning early in the route and got hopelessly lost and ended up on the most tiring walk we’d ever done. Since then, Martyn’s done a bit of research and we know exactly where we’re going!

We enjoy the ten-mile walk and, as planned, Louise picks us up in Gartocharn and takes us back…she;s got a big pot of soup on the go.

Margaret picks me up later on and I have a wee nap before we head along to Betty and Joe’s for dinner. A great night 🙂
