Balmaha’s standing stone is a feature of Balmaha’s fantastic new ‘orientation point’.

A COLD, but clear day – so after breakfast I head out to the village to take some photos of a new ‘orientation point’.

Back in front of the computer, my first job it to spread the new ‘intro to Dave Arcari’ video and update the links on my website and various other places.

After lunch I realise I haven;t cleaned the smoker from yesterday’s culinary activities, so brave the frost and get it done.

In the studio I test some recording set ups for Thursday’s show in Edinburgh then I get busy looking at set lists and running through some songs. I also run through a coupla new tunes I’m gonna be playing on STV’s Live at Five show on Wednesday (1 February, 5pm).

We make a quick dinner head to the village hall for tonight’s community council meeting – two important local issues on the agenda and we need to show our support and make our views known.

Strong presentations from guest speakers on both topics pave the way for those present to indicate their support and ensure the community councillors back up and represent the feelings of those in the community.

It’s a long meeting, so we;re glad to adjourn to the pub where we chat about the positive outcomes.
