WHEN we wake up at the old mill – Dominique’s mother’s house, Dominique has arrived with bread, croissants and a load of breakfast stuff.
We chat and eat, then all go to pick up Marie-Claude and go to Chinon – a nearby town famous for it’s wine.
Some of the other musicians coming for the festival next week are staying in B&B accommodation run by Dominique’s pal…and the houses are amazing – ‘cave’ houses, all built into the rock high above the town
Back at Beaumont en Véron, Marie-Claude makes lunch and we enjoy a glass of wine and some great food.
Tonight’s gig – the first of the French shows – is only a mile or two away. Dominique and Adrien pack the van with PA and sound equipment then we go and set up at Bar Du Centre in Avoine.
It’s really warm and I sweat a fair bit during my two 45-minute sets…just as well the beer’s flowing! There’s a good crowd in and I have a great show and enjoy meeting all the folks.
We’re back at Dominique and Marie-Claude’s just after 11pm…more drinks and Marie-Claude makes dinner for thirteen of us! A great night 🙂
