QUITE a few things needing done before we leave (early!) for Cairnryan.

First, I need to create a new set of webpage banners for my pal Rab from one of the images taken at Saturday’s photoshoot. Takes a wee while…then there’s some media stuff to deal with.

There’s a air bit of to-ing and fro-ing about stuff that I’ve already dealt with earlier I’m the week that should all have been put to bed long before now which makes some things take longer than they should, in particular the need to restring my guitars!

Eventually I get into the studio and get the string changing job done, the guitars, banjo and gear packed and we hit the road just after 4pm.

The journey is trouble-free and the weather doesn’t cause any problems. We roll up at the B&B Margaret booked between Cairnryan and Stranraer ahead of our scheduled arrival time of 7.30pm.

We dump our bags and nip into the Customs House – a Weatherspoons’ pub – in Stranraer for some grub. While not the best food int he world, there’s nothing wrong with it and it’s exceptionally good value.

Back at the B&B we relax with a bottle of red in front of the telly ready for a good start in the morning.
