BAD WEATHER – AKA ‘the beast from the east’ – has scuppered out Glasgow plans today.
I get busy with some last-minute canvassing for votes in the UK Blues Awards and some promo for tomorrow (Thursday) night’s show in Edinburgh and Saturday at the Hug & Pint in Glasgow.
The snow and cold has resulted in weather and travel warnings across central Scotland – the first red alert in years, if ever. Already folks are cancelling gigs left right and centre over the next few days but I wanna sit tight ’til we know the weather situation for sure. So, for the moment, it’s all systems go for both upcoming shows.
In the studio I do some work on the new pedalboard/case and design a power supply to keep things tidy and quick to set up.
Margaret has a community trust meeting tonight and I have some recommendations for promo to outline for her to take along.
The snow’s quite bad, but the red alert is due to be lifted at 10am tomorrow, so we’ll re-assess the potential impact on the Edinburgh show then,
Margaret goes off to her meeting and I join everyone an hour or so later for a glass (or two) of red and some grub.
