There’s a good foot of snow on the coffee table on the deck…slice of snow cake anyone?

THERE’S been more snow overnight, The red warning may reduce to amber at 10am but the advice from police and everyone is….don’t drive today.

It’s a hard call, but we decide to postpone tonight’s show in Edinburgh. Luckily the venue is understanding  and offer us Thursday 15 March. Perfect.

Now the work starts spreading the word of the cancellation. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram posts…all with graphics and info on the rescheduled date. comes into its own in situations like this, making it easy to re-schedule and contacting all ticket buyers to let them know the rescheduled date, let them know their tickets are valid and offering refunds where folks can’t make the new date.

I also fire out messages via Bandsintown and do Facebook livestreams to both my  personal profile and page.

This is the first gig Ive ever cancelled/pulled in all my years playing and touring. Hopefully it’s the last. And fingers crossed the weather and roads are clearer by Saturday for the Hug & Pint show in Glasgow.

There’s a good few hours’ work involved in all the rescheduling.

After lunch I venture out (on foot) to go and see a local electrician pal about making a custom power supply for my pedalboard/case then go home, do some more work in the office then call it a day (or evening).
