AFTER breakfast in our hotel room I get on with some work…gonna try and do a video blog using just the iPad and the iPhone.
There’s also some online promo to be done for tonight’s show.
We pack up and pick up the car and Margaret drives to Groesbeek where we find the venue….and the hotel is right next door 🙂
Next stop, lunch…a nice salad at a cafe in the square…then we have a wander around until it’s time to check-in to the hotel and load in at the venue.
Rob – the promoter aka Bluesmoose – meets us, the sound guys load in the rig and we get set up for the show. There’s about five cameras – some static and two with operators to record the show to make a special feature for Bluesmoose Radio.
Bluesmoose collaborator and venue owner Gerrie keeps us supplied with coffee, beer and Jäger (uh-oh!) and our pal Rob arrives to join us all.
After soundcheck we join the Bluesmoose team and helpers for some BBQ prepared by pitmaster Roland….amazing pulled pork, ribs and ‘moink balls’…slow cooked beef wrapped in bacon. There’s a load of salads and stuff too…amazing.
There’s a good crowd in when we kick off the show at 8pm and I sweat my way through two 45-minute sets. The first full-length show I’ve done in a while. I was worried about not being ‘match fit’ but I have a great show and the audience is fantastic.
After striking everyth8ng down we chat over drinks and more snacks….it’s after 2.30am when we stagger off to our beds. What a grea5 night 🙂
