MARGARET’S not meant to drive today following yesterday’s ‘procedure’, so i drive us into Glasgow early doors….we both have stuff on in Glasgow tonight anyway.
I manage to eek a coffee out for three hours in McDonalds while getting some work done, including postcard art for the USA tour which I send – along with order instructions – to my cousin in New York to have printed. For some reason it’s impossible to buy print in the USA from outside the country.
Next stop, Byers Road. I have some vinyls to post out and also need to try and find a copy of the Autumn edition of fRoots magazine which has a feature on yours truly. I get the stuff posted, but no copies of the magazine to be found.
I drive to the People’s Palace, park up and walk into the city centre. I try W H Smith, Waterstones, record shops…no joy. I contact the journalist that wrote the piece. She emails me a photo of the page and suggests a website called Seymour which lets you know where various magazines are stocked.
After picking up Margaret and getting her international driving permit sorted we drive to a wee newsagent in Rutherglen which apparently stocks fRoots. It doesn’t!
Margaret’s meeting some pals for s meal and drinks in the Merchant City. After dropping her off I drive to the west end to meet my pal JonZip…we have some grub at Dumpling Monkey then walk up to Cottiers for the Jesse Malin/Chuck Prophet show…it’s sold out, but JonZip managed to sort out some tickets 🙂
We have a great night then jump in the car and pick up Margaret and Paula in town. I drop JonZip off, then Paula…then we head for home.
