An impromptu jam on the National booth

SATURDAY is often the busiest day at NAMM so I need to be organised….that also means the traffic’s gonna be bad.

Nevertheless, we get top the convention centre at a decent time and catch Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley playing at the National booth.

I have a grand afternoon playing and jamming with folks and find time to take a break and catch up with other folks we know at the show as well as visit G7th Capos and Reunion Blues, both off whom I have artist deals with.

The show closes at 6pm and we head out in search of food and drink. Although we’ve had lots of funky food over the last few days, we’ve not had a ‘proper’ sit-down meal.

Everywhere’s busy and has lines outside…we decide to give a place called Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. a try. We put our names on the list and – rather than wait outside like a load of folks – manage to squeeze in and get a seat at the bar.

It’s an hour before we get a table but well worth the wait…the steak and shrimp is amazing and although its expensive, we’ve been pretty frugal the last few days so it averages out OK!

We’re back at the AirBnB just after 11pm, have a glass of red then collapse into bed. Been a good, but long, day….
