A few less round the table for Christmas dinner than usual, but we still have a great day….

WE HAVE a relaxing morning then Matty goes for a run Ben Lomond.

While he’s away I get the smoker ready for the bacon-wrapped, cranberry-rubbed, turkey breast joint then hit the studio to deal with a couple of things.

Mikey arrives early afternoon and Matty gets back from his run. The turkey’s doing OK in the smoker and Margaret’s prepped all the veg, potato and pigs in blankets so I start the cherry stuffing.

The stuffing goes in the oven but seems to want to take an awful long time and everything else is ready by the time – the turkey’s been out the smoker and resting in a faux cambro for an hour.

The turkey is stunning tho’ I say it myself but my cherry stuffing’s a little sloppy. Needs at least another hour in the oven and then let cool in the fridge.

After eating we open presents then two back to table for desert and have a messenger video call with Les in Edinburgh and Catriona, Will and the kids from Doune.

Mikey hits the road to ensure he’s back in Dundee before it’s too late and the travel restriction kick in.

We watch a couple fo films – the Shane McGowan story Crock of Gold, and then a film about Hank Garland and enjoy a few glasses of red and a nice dram before bed.

It’s been a strange old Christmas day, but it’s been good 🙂
