AS I develop more products for my West Highland Way Gifts online store I start thinking about refining the website and social media presence before I launch it properly.

I take a bunch of product photos as well as some stuff to use as graphic elements on the website and other digital artwork.

Once done I do some website work and, of course, that eats up the rest of the morning and suddenly it’s time to make some sandwiches and dash to the village shop for my afternoon/evening shift.

Despite the grey day, the shop is busy and it’s well after 8pm when I get home.

A pal who I developed a website for recently sent me a link to some digital marketing guru’s video…he think’s it’s the best thing since sliced bread but on watching it through it’s all stuff that I regard as de rigeur – and the content is patronising to say the least. Verging on scam and preying folks’ naivety and lack of marketing savvy.
