THERE’S some messaging back and forth to finalise songs and arrangements for tomorrow’s (Friday) filming with a well-known songwriter. Exciting, but I can’t say much more!
I call the guy that makes my signature bottlenecks. We’ve been working on the ‘ultimate’ signature slide and I’m hoping to have the prototypes soon. The call spurs me on to think about designing and making custom leather cases for the slides – particularly as the ultimate model is hand-blown crystal and susceptible to drops.
The producer for tomorrow’s filming has suggested two songs from my catalogue – neither of which are songs I play very often. One I can cope with but there are better choices for the other…looks like they’ll go with my suggestion. i get rehearsing!
The afternoon is spent working on a design for a leather bottleneck/slide case. It’s gonna be a bit more complicated than I expected, but I enjoy making paper mock-ups to see what might work. Once I finalise my idea there’s time for a walk up the lochside.
It’s late by the time I make dinner – then I get the first few stages of the leatherwork done for the slide case…and crack open a beer…
