WE’RE woken just after 5am by the ‘music’ being piped into our cabin on the ferry. Oooffft.

By 6.30am we’ve driven off the car deck, cleared customs and on the road home from Portsmouth.

I take over driving after an 8am breakfast stop and we share the wheel until we hit Glasgow – and Costco – just after 4pm.

We get some shopping and something to eat then roll up home and start unloading the car.

There’s a bit of carnage in the garden after some storms just after we left and a power cut has left my hydroponics neglected…but still in OK shape.

We’ve not long got the majority of stuff sorted when Betty comes along for some help with driving directions for a trip she’s making tomorrow….
