MARGARET’s off early to take the car to Paisley. Long story.

My main job today is to go through the initial mixes of tracks for the new album andtweak in accordance with our notes. I also need to tidy the start and finish of each track and make sure the levels of everything are ‘safe’ from any distortion or overload.

Other than a break for lunch – and a ten minute nap after – I’m on the mixes all day until Margaret comes home with the shopping. But no car repair.

Turns out the part that was to be fitted to the car was broken when they unpacked it, so the repair has been booked in for a future date. It’s the latest event in an ongoing debacle.

We get the shopping away and I go back tot he studio to finish the last song on my list before Fiona picks us up en route to Betty’s for dinner.
