We stop in to see our pals at the National Res-Phonic factory and share a wee dram…

WE pack the car, check out the AirBnB and start on our drive up the coast to San Luis Obispo.

A quick stop in Santa Barbara for some lunch at a really cool Mexican restaurant then we carry on on our journey.

It’s around 3.30pm when we arrive at the National Reso-Phonic factory where was hang out and chat with Eric, Jason, Shanon and some of the other folks there. We share a little Glengoyne love then discuss an exciting project with Eric. Watch this space!

Our hotel in Morro Bay is only 15 minutes drive away. When we check in there’s complimentary cheese and wine which we enjoy while planning where to go for dinner.

We plan to go to Rosins, but the kitchens closed when we arrive…so we stop in at a nice place called Dorn’s. The food is wonderful – Margaret has scampi (the proper kind, not breaded nuggets!) and I have rare ahi (tuna).

Our enjoyment of the food is kinda hampered any the waitress coming and asking if we want the desert menu when we’re only half-way through our main course…then, my plate is cleared before Margaret’s finished and the bill put on the table. Weird!!!

Margaret mentions it to the waitress who apologises and takes it on the chin…but it’s still very strange – especially in a premium-price restaurant!

On the way back to the hotel we pick up a couple mod bottles of red – we didn’t get the chance to order any wine with our dinner – and relax for the remainder of the night.
