WE’RE up at a reasonable time at Sue and Jim’s and I get a bit of work done while we have breakfast.

It’s midday when we hit the road to Grand Rapids, stopping off at a Panera Bread for some lunch. Load-in at Founders is 6pm and our gig rep – and pal – Melinda is waiting for us.

Technicians Steve and Kevin make set up and soundcheck a breeze then we relax with a beer and Melinda arranges for food. She’s also brought some cakes for my birthday!

Delilah DeWylde kicks things off at 9pm and plays a cool 90-minute set of 50s covers. I’m on at 10.45pm for a 75-minute set. There’s a great crowd in, especially for a Thursday….and some familiar faces to 🙂

Next stop, Doug and Micki’s in Kalamazoo where we’re staying tonight. We rock up just after 1am and enjoy a few drinks before falling into bed. Great to see them 🙂
