NICE clear sky and sunshine…I’d planned to cycle to Gartmore via part of the West Highland Way and over the old road, but it’s really icy underfoot. And that old road is pretty exposed going over the hill.

It’s our eighth wedding anniversary today – how time flies. We exchange cards and have breakfast.

We decide to drive to Gartmore, drop something off and drop by another pal in the village’s garden to see if I can solve his Sonos problem. I spend an hour reseting, connecting and trying all sorts but I can’t get it working.

On the way home Margaret drops me at Garadhban forest and I wander along the West Highland Way before cutting off for the next village and on home.

I’m not long back when Matty arrives – he’s in our ‘bubble’ so is allowed to stay over under current lockdown rules.

I make Vietnamese beef for dinner and we eat, drink and chat the night away.
