Seems like Spring has sprung – lovely day for a bike ride up the lochside to Rowardennan

I FINISH editing the video session for Newtone Strings and get it sent off first thing, Quite pleased with the result 🙂

It’s a beautiful day, so after getting some admin stuff ticked off the to-do list I take a cycle ride up to Ben Lomond.

I’m home in time to make some arancini balls with the leftover asparagus risotto. I put out too much panic, so egg and crumb the balls twice. The experiment pays off – they’re fantastic!!!

A call from a music industry pal tells me he’s gonna make an email intro to a music supervisor in LA who’s needing a vocal track recorded…a ‘Scottish sea shanty’ version of a Bon Jovi song! A subsequent message from her gives me the details and I spend the rest of the afternoon trying to get my head round it and record a demo version. There’s probably loads of submissions/options, but even if nothing comes of it, it’s a good introduction and a something different – very different – to try.

There’s still half an hour of daylight left and I didn’t clean the bike earlier so I squeeze in another bike ride up the first section of Conic Hill and back. Even with electrical assistance and ‘turbo mode’ I struggle with section…more training and technique development needed before I try and tackle that one again!

It’s late when I have dinner ready and we chill for the remainder of the night.
