I HAVE a Zoom call first thing with G7th Capos to discuss the prep and interview on their IGTV channel for my upcoming ‘artist of the week’ feature.
We’re just finished when the producer working on the film I’m taking part in tonight calls. The location has changed and is a lot more convenient than originally planned…and she’s able to confirm my choice of songs to play 🙂
There’s a bunch of paperwork relating to the filming as well as a health declaration. I also need to take a COVID test and send off a photo of the result. Thankfully all’s good!
The prototypes of my new signature bottleneck slides arrives. One’s a bit small and too light in colour, the other is good tho’. I finish off making my leather pouch and decide to make another as a wee gift for the singer/songwriter I’ll be working with later today.
After running through the songs that I’ll play later on I get the stuff together that I’ll need and wait for the driver who takes me to the location.
It’s only a half-hour or so drive and we have a good blether. The production folks and crew are all cool and we hang out and have a coffee while the scene is set and the rain goes off.
There’s four of us in the group round the fire and we spend a good couple of hours chatting, swapping stories, playing songs and….drinking whisky. If there’s such a thing as ‘too much whisky’ I was the embodiment of it!
Once we’re done I’m delivered back home just after midnight. A great night and I’m excited to see the results 🙂
