AFTER a bit of a long lie we have breakfast. Matty’s gone out for a run and gets back just as we’re starting to eat.

My first job of the day is to fill a gap left around our back window by the fitters a year ago. They left a few things ‘incomplete’ and rather than come back and sort them themselves, asked the local guy here to do it for them. Instead of charging the window company, though, he charged us. And didn’t finish the job either 🙁

Upshot is I decided to do it myself along with sorting a gap in the roof. I picked up some mortar last week but when I took a closer look at the roof I found the gap to be much bigger and deeper than I first thought. Expanding foam to the rescue. I use it to fill in the majority of the gap in both places.

Once it’s cured I’ll finish off with mortar or whatever.

I make a courgette and egg roll thing and get in the fridge ready for a snack later. I’m just finishing when Martyn, Louise and Oran drop by. We sit in the garden and chat for an hour.

Sister-in-law Les has been having problems with audio on her Zoom calls so we’ve arrange a FaceTime call to see if I can help out. We get sorted in a jiffy and then do a test call via Zoom and I help configure all the settings/preferences. Job done.

It’s a lovely day out and a walk up the lochside lets me enjoy the evening sun.

Matty’s staying again tonight – and tomorrow (Monday). I make black pepper tofu and we chill and blather for a while before bed.
