MORE stuff to be finished off and taken to the shop – leather key fobs, acrylic keyrings and slate hearts.
They’re taking them ‘sale or return’. I’m keen to see if they sell.
When I get back to the house I message the hosting company to see what one earths happened to Margaret’s community trust email then update the westhighlandwaygifts.co.uk website with the new items and spread the word round social media.
After lunch I write news releases for the upcoming Newcastle and Belfast shows then take a call from a festival promoter keen to book me for something late October. We chat for a while and it sounds interesting, so I tell him to email Margaret with all the details and offer as she’s the one that deals with my bookings.
The laser machine I use to make both my own and the West Highland Way Gifts merch is needing some attention. it’s not cutting very well and I suspect the mirrors and focus lens need a clean. it’s daunting dismantling the machine to access some of the parts but I manage OK and am rewarded with much better performance after ‘the procedure’.
I’m still working in the office when Margaret gets home then I venture out on a walk. I take a different track today and have to jump a wall and fence to cross a field and get to the road. I spotted sheep in the field, but not all the cows – some of which are lying down alongside the perimeter of the field where I’m walking.
As I approach the get up and wander off…but circle behind me and start following me. All except one large one which turns out to be a bull with a big ring through it’s nose. It’s showing a bit too much interest for my liking and for every step I take, it takes two towards me, getting faster every few steps.
I get kinda freaked out as it starts to gain ground an sprint to the gate, getting over it just in time to avoid what might’ve been a nasty conflict.
Back home I tidy up some loose ends of work then make teriyaki chicken for a late dinner….
