THE alarm goes off at 8am – that’s rough after 3.30/4am shot – but I have someone coming for a guitar lesson first thing.
I take Dawn to the studio for her lesson so’s not to wale Margaret and Fred – and by the time we’re done, Margaret and Fred are up and about and getting breakfast on the go.
Conversation takes over once again and we sit for a good couple of hours blethering then I manage to persuade Fred to come over to the studio to record some choruses for my Loch Lomond (Home) recording.
Fred hits the road and I get the smoker going for the chicken I prepped yesterday, We’ll have some of the chicken for dinner tonight and the rest’ll go in the freezer for future jambalaya.
I have a fair bit of work to get through in the studio before Will arrives with Freya late afternoon. She’s coming for the night.
Will and I have a coffee and a blether about some of the stuff for his glassmaking then I manage to coax him to the studio to lay down a vocal too! That’s all the voices I need now, so hope to get going on a mix tomorrow (Friday)…and I’ll give folks in my Wildcats’ Facebook group a wee preview during Monday evening’s livestream…the ‘voices of the loch’ who have contributed to the recording will, of course, get a chance to hear it first 🙂
Back in the house I make a batch of Alabama white BBQ sauce to go with the smoked chicken and we settle down for the night with a glass of red and watch a few episodes of McCartney 1, 2, 3 – a Hulu (also available on Disney+) documentary series featuring discussion between Rick Rubin and Paul McCartney. Highly recommended
