FREYA’S awake early and Margaret gets up to keep her amused.
They’re away to feed the ducks by the time I get up and in the shower and arrive back just as I’m ready for the day.
We have breakfast then I go to the studio and get busy. Quite a lot on my list today.
Once all the routine stuff’s out the way I start work on the ‘voices of the loch’ for the choruses on my Loch Lomond (Home) recording.
Margaret takes Freya to meet Catriona and Aaron at the swimming pool in Callander and IU make myself some arancini with the last of the leftover risotto.
After lunch I get in touch with one of the shops in a. nearby village to see if they would like to stock any of my West Highland Way Gifts products. they do, but it’s ‘sale or return’ and they want me to take in some samples. I don’t have time to make anything else up today so that’ll be a job for over the weekend.
I kinda underestimated the amount of work pulling together all the individual voices together for the choruses of Loch Lomond (Home) – the balancing and panning of each voice is the easy bit…but there’s a lot of timing that needs to be sorted. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but I need things to be roughly in time. There’s a lot of cutting and moving about words!
It’s after 8pm when I go back to the house and start preparing for tonight’s dinner – I decided to try pulled pork on the pizzas so have made a kind of passata/BBQ hybrid sauce.
The pizzas are good..but there’s something kinda weird about the combination…
