I’M up and in the shower early – I need to get breakfast and be on my way to catch a bus to Balloch at 9am.
Then there’s a 20-minute wait for a bus to Luss…I arrive around 10am. My photo job isn’t ’til 2pm. That’s the downside of public transport around here.
I had thought of going not he bike but (a) too much to carry and (b) a puncture or other mishap could scupper things…it’s a wedding shoot so they can’t wait for me!
St Mocha on the pier is shift for the winter now, but I find a really nice wee coffee shop called the Coach House. I have a reasonably-priced coffee, sit outside and log on to the coffee shop wifi and get some work done for a few hours.
A wee walk and a queue in the village shop to pick up a wrap kill some time and after settling at a picnic bench to eat my – rather meagre – lunch I wander along to the Lodge on the Loch to meet my clients Lisa and Scott who are being married in a. civil ceremony.
The ceremony and photoshoot all go well and I’m done soon after 3pm. My bus isn’t ’til 4.40pm tho’, so I get a drink from an ice cream van and sit on the beach.
It’s 6pm when I get home and hit the studio immediately to get the photos dumped onto a hard drive. While they’re coming over I grab a coffee with Margaret – she has a community trust meeting at 7.30pm and I go back to the studio to start going through the photos.
I;m half-way done when an alert on my watch tells me someone is at the door over at the house. It’s pitch black outside but I recognise the shapes and voices as Steven and Fiona.
They’ve brought some home-grown chillies…we go into he house and have a beer..then Margaret comes home and we drink and chat a little more. It’s nice to see them.
It’s well after 10pm when we have dinner and chill for a while before bedtime.
