The beef, asparagus and mushroom stir-fry works great!

FIRST UP is a Zoom session with on of my Monday students re-scheduled for today.

My plan was to put the new brake pads on the back discs on the bike, make a packed lunch and have a wee cycle up the lochside. Unfortunately, installing the new pads isn’t as straightforward as it’s made out to be. There’s no space for the pads and a squeeze on the brake lever to loosen them ends up with a ‘bit’ falling out and the hydraulic fluid leaking everywhere. Shit.

I call the nearest Focus dealer – in Glasgow – and am basically told if I didn’t buy the bike from them they won’t look at it. I could almost understand if they weren’t a Focus dealer, but this is ridiculous. I’ve heard similar stories from folks trying to get assistance form a more local bike shop.

FInally I call a place in Helensburgh and make an appointment to drop the bike off net week. Jeez. All for some brake pads.

It’s now lunchtime and I ain’t going nowhere!

Instead I hit the studio for a few hours then get a quick walk before it gets dark.

There’s some flank steak, asparagus and mushrooms needing used up so I find a suitable stir-fry recipe and give it a whirl. Works out great 🙂
