QUITE a luxury waking up with power!

First job is to sort some online orders for both Dave Arcari and West Highland Way Gifts merch and get in the postbox before last post.

There’s a meal plan and shopping list to make for tomorrow’s jaunt into the city and we’ll likely have pizza over the next day or two so I make some poolish which I’ll leave in the fridge overnight and use for pizza dough tomorrow.

I get my covid booster and flu jabs this afternoon. But none of the buses to – or from – the village coincide without over an hour’s wait either way. Normally I’d have gone on the bike, but it’s been out of action since my accident six weeks ago and is going to the repair shop later in the week. So I walk.

I allow an hour and a half for the almost five-mile hike and make it in good time. I also have a prescription to pick up at the chemist.

After my jabs and walk, I’ll home soon after 4pm and get the fire lit and do some admin work before embarking on prep for tonight’s pumpkin ravioli.

I have a re-scheduled Zoom session with one of my guitar students at 7pm then go back to the house and make the ravioli. My wee ‘pillows’ aren’t as well sealed as they should be though and the end result, although OK, is a bit watery…
