UP EARLY and into Glasgow first thing – except that we find we get a flat tyre which adds a good 20-30 minutes and some hassle to our journey. There’s a screw in the tread of the tyre.
I drop Margaret off then take the car to the garage in Maryhill to het the glow plugs changed, check a minor oil leak…and now fix the fucked tyre. Should be ready to collect early afternoon.
Hunger has taken over and I walk into town, stopping at Tinderbox at Charing X for a toastie, coffee and to get some work done.
I carry on my walk, stop for another coffee and Wi-Fi – McDonalds this time – then call the garage. there’s a problem. One of the glow plugs has broken and they can’t remove it.
When I get to the garage Stevie shows me the problem and explains they’ll have to keep the car in…luckily they have a car they can lend us.
I go and pick up Margaret, but by this time I’m starting to feel a bit crap and aching all over. Aftermath of yesterday’s jabs I guess.
We pick up some shopping and make for home where I marinade some flank steak for the grill later and make a batch of pizza dough with the poolish prepared yesterday.
