WE HAVE a much-needed long lie…probably too long, but hey ho!
After brunch take all the giveaway entries, put them on a spreadsheet and we use a random number generator to pick the winners. Four bottles of whisky and two ‘Dave Arcari’ hip flasks.
I pack them all out, buy postage online, print the labels and have everything ready to go to the post office in Balfron later when we go to the dump.
There’s a pack of chicken thighs that need de-boned, trimmed and a rub so I can smoke them tomorrow (Saturday)…it’s a pain in the ass job, but Costco’s £5 tray of chicken thighs is good value and worth the prep effort.
Andy Murray’s tennis match is on the telly so after loading the old gazebo frame, a defunct office chair and old gazebo canopy and a load of cardboard into the car, I’m despatched to the dump.
I get to the post office just in time to get the parcels in the last post then empty the car at the dump.
Back home I start preparing some flank steak for a beef and asparagus stir-fry.
We still haven’t written our Christmas cards…but I do manage to get thank-yous out to everyone who sent Facebook stars and/or paypal tips last night 🙂
