VALENTINE’s Day! We have coffee in bed and exchange some small gifts then I get into my wetsuit for a pre- breakfast paddle.
Looks like it’s gonna be windy for the forseeable, so this might be my last chance to get on the water for a while.
My aim is to head for Port Bawn on far end of Inchcailloch. The water is like glass in the bay but starts to get a little less smooth when I get out towards the island. The wind starts to pick up and I’m getting tired but I’m determined to reach my destination. As I round the end of the island it’s getting rough and I need to kneel down for a few hundred metres util I reach the shelter of the bay a Port Bawn.
Once ashore I notice the time and realise I’m gonna be pushed for time to get back for my first Zoom guitar student of the day! I send a message asking if we can push the time back half an hour.
The paddle back is easier, but I’m pretty tired and broken by the time I get back. Great sense of achievement tho’ – three-and-a-half miles and an hour and 40 minutes paddling is my longest session to date.
I manage shower and breakfast before meeting my guitar student online. Once done I see the weather is good so I grab a camera and go to film some cutaways for the Communities Housing Trust film I’m editing.
After a late lunch I work on the film edit then do some prep for this evening’s livestream into my Wildcats’ Facebook group….then I have another online guitar student.
The livestream goes well then it’s back to the house where Margaret’s starting to cook up some steak for a special Valentine’s dinner 🙂
