THERE’S a custom leather keyfob to be finished and some online stuff to do before my regular Thursday morning guitar student arrives.
Once she’s done, I hit the studio and get a little more work done before it’s time to head to the school in Balloch.
The session with the kids there goes well then I stop on the way home to pick up some shopping and get a long overdue haircut.
When I get home the Quad Cortex I ordered yesterday from Anderton’s has arrived. I unbox and check it out. It was sold as ‘b-stock’ which is effectively a ‘return’ but it’s still fully packaged and looks untouched to me. bargain!
I need to get some editing done on the Finland trip video before I constant messing around with ‘my new toy’ as Margaret likes to call it…she loves teasing me like that as I don’t regard a work too as a ‘toy’. Just one of these phrases terms that irks me…a little like the current trend to use the work ‘mate’. When I was growing up ‘mate’ tended to be used as an aggressive form of address as in “…see you mate – I’m gonna kick your head in..” which, I suspect, is why it still wrankles with me even though it’s rarely, if ever, used like that these days. Anyway…
Eventually I get a wee while to work with the Quad Cortex and check it out. First impressions are good 🙂
Back in the house I start the veg pasta for dinner. For such a seemingly basic dish it’s actually one of the most complicated and involved things I make…especially when I’m halfway through and remember that I need to finish making the pizza dough for tomorrow!
